Nailing the Coffin Shut.

Well boils and ghouls, it's been a long time coming, but I'm afraid tonight is the night I make it official: Heavy Vibes is no more.  Not that it's important to know, but the past year has seen some major changes in my life, changes that have taken their time, and their toll.

In October, I made it official that I was moving out west, to Victoria, B.C. on Vancouver Island.  I fully intended to keep the blog going once I'd become fully adjusted to the city, work, living with my girlfriend, etc.  However, circumstance decided that I wasn't going to be getting too comfortable in Victoria after all.  Not that you need to know, but on Dec. 24th, 2007 (that's Christmas Eve, for you non-believers like myself out there), my long-time ladyfriend and I decided to cut our losses and call it quits.  It was later on that evening that I was struck with the sudden realization that I had been away from home for far too long, and it was time to move back to the "pile of bones," Queen City of central Canada, Regina, Saskatchewan.

I will continue to write online, but not as the author of this blog.  My intention is to regularly update a new, as-of-yet-untitled blog, with the focus placed on events, concerts, exhibits, happenings, controversies, culture, and other local goings on.  I have no idea what the title, or the exact content of the site will be, but I'll be sure to post a link to it after the first post is made.  One thing you can be sure of is that I'll no longer be posting album reviews, or accepting submissions for review, with the sole exception being local artists (ie: Regina, Saskatoon, and surrounding area).

I'd like to take this time now to thank everyone who has supported this blog, and contributed to it's growth: Naben Ruthnum (my first fan!), Rubber (() Cement (greatest interview specimen ever!), Jacob Felix Heule, M.P. Lockwood, Outer Space Gamelan (the site that inspired me to do this in the first place), Smooth Assailing, Curor Recordings, Teenage Whore Tapes, Resipiscent Records, Tom Smith (of T.L.A.S.I.L.A.), Olwen Cowan, Mona Struthers, Robert Coslett, and last but not least, Ms. Lila Zais.

Peace.

-C. L. H.
